하선규 교수는 독일 베를린 자유대학에서 철학과 영화학으로 학부, 석사, 박사 과정을 마쳤으며, 1998년 “전-비판기 칸트에 있어 신학, 목적론, 미학. 판단력비판의 모티브에 관한 발전사적 연구”로 박사학위를 취득했다. 전공분야는 서양 근,현대 미학이며, 주요 연구 분야는18-19세기 서양 미학사, 철학적 인간학, 영상이론, 매체미학이다.
