The department runs a machine workshop at the highest international standards, and its faculty consists of renowned artists, designers and theorists in the field. As an internationally renowned living art and design trendsetter that continues to grow, the department networks with world-famous design schools, holds an annual International Furniture Design Workshop, and takes part in various design fairs in Korea and overseas.

he freshmen year concentrates on attaining the technical skills to create furniture through basic drawing and design classes and studio practices by studying the application of woodwork tools and machines. The sophomore course explores design theory and history, and researches the technical aspects of woodwork. The junior curriculum investigates the field of furniture design in greater depth, providing creative studio classes and furniture design management courses. The senior year focuses on developing creative design skills with a global sense as well as exploring the sphere of design from various academic aspects.
