Cultivation of basic skills based on tradition
College of Fine Arts, Hongik University aims to produce artistically talented individuals with creativity, imagination, and originality through educating distinguished students with not only our traditional education system but also our artistic knowledge and techniques. Basic skill intensive classes will provide students with opportunities of various experiments of two and three dimensions and drawing, which will serve as a foundation for systematic curriculum. Through graded artistic technique programs, students will cultivate both artistic thinking capabilities and critical perspective.
Active and creative acceptance of contemporary artistic spirit and methodologies
College of Fine Arts, Hongik University positively accepts new movements and trends in contemporary art and design and reflects them in our curriculum. We encourage students to build up their own unique ways of thinking with open eyes and mind beyond fixed idea and conventional thinking. We aim to produce innovative and creative artists through our advanced program where students are encouraged to experiment a new artistic possibility based on tradition.
Development of future-oriented interdisciplinary and collaboration program
College of Fine Arts, Hongik University aims to develop and provide interdisciplinary programs which produce artists of various spectrum of art, liberal arts and engineering. Through this program, students are able to expand possibilities of artistic talents and creative imagination and to grow into artists whose integrated thinking abilities will contribute a global community.

College of Fine Arts, Hongik University has produced numerous distinguished Korean artists, designers and thus has been ranked as one of the best art colleges. With an enrollment of 2,800 students in 11 departments at present, we have been leading a new cultural and artistic trend through interacting actively with students and artists from all of the world. Our faculty members who graduated from internationally prestigious universities invest their passion to foster promising artists with new and various teaching methodologies.
College of Fine Arts, Hongik University will not be satisfied with our great achievement and tradition of over 70 years and devote ourselves to produce creative and outstanding artists who will be able to propose new artistic possibilities based on full understanding of current artistic trends and their unique point of views. To attain this end, we have implemented educational innovation while deepening liberal education as humanities and accepting positively various new media including digital media. We expect that our innovative program would turn out creative artists who are able to rediscover authentic meaning of traditional media and thus equipped well with integrated thinking abilities.
