The Department of Textile Art and Fashion Design aims to train designers leading the textile and fashion industry through professional education in design practice and theory.

The course helps students develop an artistic identity and gives them a strong basis for understanding the properties and expressive skills needed in textile art. The course also gives students the ability to set new trends in the textile fashion industry.

The freshmen curriculum is designed so that students can attain a basic knowledge in various media and design processes. The sophomore year subdivides the field of textiles and fashion into fashion design, dyeing, and other courses in order to provide a more professionally orientated training. The junior year is structured to strengthen foundational techniques and focuses on the theory of textiles and fashion. The senior year focuses on producing finished works of art and gaining practical skills and comprehensive knowledge for various career paths through business training courses such as fashion marketing.
